COVID-19 Actuaries Response Group
Intensive Care Society

ICS Webinar

The Intensive Care Society (ICS) hosted experts from the ISARIC 4C consortium and from ICNARC, as well as our own Stuart McDonald, in this webinar from 25 March 2021.

Dr Rishi Gupta discussed the development of ISARIC 4C mortality scores. These can be used to inform clinical decision making about the risks to individual patients.

Professor Kathy Rowan discussed the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) reports. These have been produced through the pandemic. They show how ICU admissions and outcomes vary when analysed by demographic and medical characteristics.

Stuart commented on the way actuaries have used data, including the ICNARC data, through the pandemic. He highlighted some of the ways that this has fed into decision making.
